Im Rahmen einer Specialist Task Force mit insgesamt 5 Experten aus der Forchung und Industrie wurde eine "Configuration and validation of channel congestion control methods of ITS and techniques for co-existence cooperative ITS" durchgeführt. Das Ergebnis sind zwei Technical Specifications (TS), welche  grundlegende Mechanismen festlegen um eine Überlastkontrolle im dezentralen Kommunikationsnetz sicherzustellen, und Bedingungen aufstellt um eine Koexistenz mit bereits im Betrieb befindlichen DSRC Systemen sicherzustellen.

• TS 102 687: Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS); Decentralized Congestion Control Mechanisms for Intelligent Transport Systems operating in the 5 GHz range; Access layer part
• TS 102 792: Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS); Mitigation techniques to avoid interference between European CEN Dedicated Short Range Communication (RTTT DSRC) equipment and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) operating in the 5 GHz frequency range
